How the Licensing Process Works

Fill out the Licensing Request Form with your project details.

I’ll review your request and reply by email to confirm terms and costs.

Once we both agree, I’ll send you a secure payment link (via PayPal or Stripe).

After payment, you’ll receive the license agreement (PDF) along with the music files.

1. Music Licensing Options
All music on this site is available for non-exclusive licensing for use in film, television, games, stage productions, podcasts, YouTube, and other multimedia projects.

I also offer:

Exclusive licensing (by request – exclusive rights may only be granted if no prior non-exclusive licenses are in force).

Custom scoring for scenes, trailers, and transitions.

Cue sheet support for broadcasters and media professionals (registered with APRA AMCOS).

2. Vocal Songs & Backing Tracks

Some of my original songs are available for other artists to license and perform. Options include:

Backing tracks for vocalists (with or without a guide vocal).

Rights to perform or record the song while keeping the original lyrics and melody.

Opportunities for collaborative versions with new vocalists.

3. Works in Progress & Custom Collaborations

I also have a collection of unfinished songs — tracks that are fully composed but don’t yet have finalized melodies or lyrics. These are ideal for:

Vocalists looking for original material.

Lyricists seeking a creative partner.

4. Terms & Usage Rights

I retain full master and publishing rights, unless otherwise agreed upon.

Licensed tracks may not be resold or redistributed.

Please credit Garry Quince where appropriate (e.g., film credits, streaming platforms).

Exclusive Licenses: Can only be granted if the track has not already been licensed non-exclusively. Once an exclusive license is granted, no further licenses (exclusive or non-exclusive) will be issued

Q: What’s the difference between non-exclusive and exclusive licensing?

Non-exclusive means multiple clients can license and use the same track in their projects.

Exclusive means you are the only license holder — no one else can use the track after your license is granted. (Exclusive rights are only available if the track has never been licensed before.)

Q: Can I use your music on YouTube or social media?
Yes. Licensed tracks can be used in YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, podcasts, and other digital platforms. If your video is monetized, a proper license ensures there are no copyright disputes.

Q: Can I monetize content with your music?
Yes — provided you hold a valid license. This includes ad-supported YouTube videos, podcasts with sponsorships, and commercial projects.

Q: Do I need to give you credit?
Credit is always appreciated and sometimes required, depending on the license type. A simple “Music by Garry Quince” in the credits, description, or metadata is usually enough.

Q: Can I edit or remix your music?
Yes, but only with permission and within the terms of your license. For larger edits, remixes, or adding vocals, please contact me first.

Q: What if I want a custom piece of music?
I also compose original scores tailored for film, TV, games, and other projects. Just reach out with your brief and we can discuss your needs.

Q: How long does a license last?
Most licenses are granted for a 12-month term, with the option to renew if you’d like to continue using the music. This ensures fair compensation if your project runs longer than expected. For projects that require permanent use (such as films or games), perpetual rights can be negotiated at a higher fee.
